Behind each performer hundreds of people are needed to “get the show on the road”, from lighting to make up, trucking to catering, staging to pyrotechnics – the roles are almost endless. Backstage skills are required anywhere from live concerts and events to corporate hospitality.
The Backstage Academy provides a range of industry based short courses, from rigging and pyrotechnics to Apple training. In November we are launching our revolutionary Foundation Degree in Live Events Production. It will offer students the opportunity to gain a long list of industry certificates as they complete the course; from the Events Safety Passport Scheme to Stage Pyrotechnics and First Aid.
We are an Apple Authorised Training Centre, an Avid Authorised Training Centre and are offering a unique range of industry focused courses.
The Backstage Academy is based at the LS-Live rehearsal studios in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, where many of the world’s biggest names in entertainment have come to rehearse. With unique industry links, LS-Live brings together stage & set construction, equipment hire, rehearsal facilities and outdoor staging structures all under one roof, serving the concert, touring and live events markets.
However if you don’t want to come to us for training or we are a little too far away we can bring most of our courses to you. Our Apple Suite is made up of Macbook Pros that can be taken to another site very easily. We are also happy to discuss the logistics of bringing any of the other courses to your venue.
